The Four Forms

Martha envisions four different forms of God

It isn't about how God presents him or herself, but about how you want God to be presented.
Often times we are fed an image of a white man with a long beard to portray the image of God. Octavia Butler gets really creative in her short story The Book of Martha, God shape shifts in a way that has never been manifested through art or literature.
Majestic bearded white man resembling to Michelangelo's Moses

Regular height white man, not as glorified or magetstic

Regular Black man                                                              Regular Black woman resembling herself.

The Book of Martha can be found in Bloodchild and Other Stories by Octavia Butler and may be purchased through Amazon
